The Manitoba Association of Parent Councils (MAPC) is an organization of school based parent groups throughout Manitoba. Most of those members are Parent Advisory Councils (PACs), Parent Councils, Advisory Councils for School Leadership (ACSL), and other parent committees from individual schools as well as individual members who do not currently participate in an active parent group in their community.
MAPC Mission Statement The Manitoba Association of Parent Councils is dedicated to supporting, promoting, and enhancing meaningful involvement of parents and caregivers within school communities, representing their voice to all educational stakeholders to improve the education and well-being of children in Manitoba.

MAPC Strategic Areas For Development Based on the strategic planning seessions that took place in 2010 - 2011, MAPC has selected five goals for the organization: Representation - To become truly representative of the parents of children in education in Manitoba and work toward increasing membership to include participation from all regions, cultural groups, etc and to promote and develop diverse representation on the board and the organization. Support and Services - To continue offering membership and stakeholders supports and services through professional devleopment, advice and consultation, communications and recognition, and networking. Advocacy Project - To advocate on behalf of parents and students on education matters in Manitoba Educational Partnerships - To increase and enhance positive relationships with educational stakeholders in Manitoba Organizational Function - As defined in the day to day administrative operations, board governance and support processes for Board Directors and Staff of MAPC
